These rich blue and cream dinner-sized plates of Transferware type design will become treasured heirlooms for future South Carolinians to pass down for generations. They are made in England of exquisite, bone china and are microwave and dishwasher safe. The plates may also be purchased at fine gift stores around the state or by contacting us.
The border of each plate, which unites the collection, consists of an elegant composite of state flora and fauna. Intricate designs of the Carolina Peach, Yellow Jessamine and the Swallowtail Butterfly are interwoven around the rim. Distinguished displays of state symbols are contained in the encircling cartouches. The State Seal, State Flag, Carolina Wren, Yellow Jessamine, Palmetto Tree and the historical Mace and Sword, which are the authority symbols for the House and Senate, are all proud representatives of our heritage. The center design of each plate represents historical people, landmarks or events that were significant to us as we try to preserve and share the great history of our state. A description of the center design is detailed on the reverse of each plate.

Commissioned by Siblings Three, LLP
The South Carolina History Plates were designed and commissioned by Rosemary Talbert Hopkins, John Talbert, Jr. and Nancy Talbert Moore -- the “Siblings Three”. We wanted to honor the great and wonderful history of our home state of South Carolina. We owe both acknowledgements and gratitude for all the help we had with this project. Among those are the late Mrs. Martha Patterson, of McCormick, South Carolina who helped us get started, The South Caroliniana Library, Columbia, SC, who worked with us on our research, S. C. Department of Archives and History, and our mom, Rose Reese Talbert, who has urged us on every step of the way. Her encouragement and her attention to detail has truly been our inspiration. We are lucky “siblings” to have had such wonderful and loving parents.
